THE DIRTY TRUTH: THE TOP 6 SKINCARE INGREDIENTS TO AVOID

The skin is the largest and most essential organ in the human body. It protects the body's other critical organs, bones, muscles, ligaments, and nerves, among other things. It only makes sense to be extra cautious about what we apply to our skin.

This is why:

Up to 60% of what we apply to our skin is absorbed. That is to say, the goods we put on our body have a beneficial or negative impact on people's health and overall well-being. Because the FDA does not regulate skincare, practically any substance, some of which are extremely harmful to the body, can be used in a formula.

Many substances present in traditional skincare products (face washes, lotions, sunscreens, and so on) are now being linked to health problems such allergies, dermatitis, cancer, hormone disturbance, and reproductive disorders. So, sure, your skincare has the potential to make you sick!

All of our Vegan Products made with pure pecan oil contain none of this "dirty ingredients" However if you choose to use them here is why we avoid them below.

The Top 6 Skincare Ingredients You Should Avoid:

You want to nourish your skin rather than poison it. The "Toxic 12" ingredients to avoid in skincare products are listed below. We go over why they're dangerous and where you may find them.

1. ALUMINUM
Toxic metal with oestrogen-like effects in human bodies, altering the endocrine system's normal functioning. Almost every personal care product contains it, especially antiperspirant deodorants.

2. DEA, MEA, and TEA (diethanolamine, monoethanolamine, and tetraethanolamine) (triethanolamine)
Liquids that are clear, colourless, and viscous, with ammonia-like scents.
Typically found in foaming goods such as face cleansers and soaps. Eye cosmetics, fragrances, hair products, and sunscreens all include them.

3. UREA & DMDM HYDANTOIN (Imidazolidinyl)
Preservatives that frequently emit formaldehyde, a gas that can cause joint discomfort, skin allergies, headaches, and insomnia. Skincare goods, cosmetics, shampoos & conditioners, and detergents are all common places to find it.

4. MINERAL OIL (n.d.)
A petroleum by-product that covers the skin and clogs the pores like plastic. This is extremely hazardous since it interferes with the skin's capacity to clear pollutants, making acne and other diseases more likely. Creams, lotions, ointments, and cosmetics are common examples.

5. PARABENS (Methyl, Butyl, Ethyl, Propyl)
Not always labelled, preservatives are utilized, and they may cause hormonal imbalance. Including skincare goods such as moisturizers and deodorants, they may be obtained practically anywhere.

PEG (polyethylene glycol) (Polyethylene glycol)
A substance that has the potential to change and lower the skin's natural moisture factor. It thickens products and alters the melting point. To dissolve oil and grease, it's usually found in cleansers.

Taking all of this into account, the next time you go shopping for skincare products, it's critical to study the ingredient lists attentively and not skip over any phrases you don't recognize.
